HOUSE RULES
Uphold these rules on Club premises
Damages to Club property including marks and residues on the badminton courts from inappropriate footwear will incur a minimum fine of $500.00.
Blatant disregard and repeated offences of the Club’s terms, house rules and/or code of conduct may result in financial penalties, suspensions, or legal action.
Smash Champs reserves the right to remove any individual from its premises at its sole discretion at any time without prior notice.
We place trust in our members to be responsible. Please read this section carefully. Violations, especially during overnight hours will not be tolerated. The building is closely monitored at all times.
CODE OF CONDUCT
Smash Champs aims to provide an exceptional badminton experience to its members and is passionate about creating a positive and growing community.
In order to ensure a safe, friendly, respectful and enjoyable environment for everyone, Smash Champs requires all members, staff and any other visitors or users of the Club’s facility, website, online store, social media or any communication platforms to adhere to this Code of Conduct at all times (including during overnight hours).
Please read this section carefully.
1.0 MEMBER ETIQUETTE
1.1 – Act lawfully. Act with integrity and in a respectful, sportsmanlike manner. Follow the rules and be honest in all aspects of play.
1.2 – Show consideration to others. Do not distract others unduly, rotate fairly, and finish on time.
1.3 – Do not attend sessions that you are not registered for or use courts that are not allocated to your session. Speak with staff if there are vacant courts that you would like to use.
1.4 – No-shows are considered to be inconsiderate behavior. Cancel a booking or unregister online if you are not able to attend so that others may. Refer to our Booking & Attendance Policy.
1.5 – Take responsibility for your own safety and safety of others. Assess and participate in activities at your own discretion and risk, use the facility and equipment for its intended purpose only, and follow all rules and policies.
1.6 – Behave respectfully and courteously towards everyone, including staff. Discrimination based on race, color, ancestry, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, as well as any form of harassment, is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
1.7 – Listen to written or verbal instructions provided by staff on site at the facility, through the website, through account login, or through email communications.
1.8 – Take care of the facility including equipment and property. Use all equipment and property for their intended purpose only, clean up after yourself, put things where they belong, clean up after yourself, put things where they belong, and do not remove Club property including Club towels.
1.9 – Bring and look after your own equipment and belongings, including racquets and shuttles. The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Do not hoard or take items from the lost and found section (see section 6.0) that is not yours.
2.0 FOOTWEAR, ATTIRE, AND OTHER POSSESSIONS
2.1 – All members must wear explicitly labeled “indoor non-marking” court shoes while using the badminton courts. Damage, scuffs, or marks and residues left from incorrect footwear may result in a minimum $500.00 fine.
2.2 – Wear attired appropriate for the sport. Costumes, props, swimwear and other revealing clothing are not permitted unless authorized by the club.
2.3 – Comply with our scent-free policy by avoiding perfumes, colognes, and other scented products. Help keep the environment comfortable by maintaining good personal hygiene and wear clean clothes.
2.4 – Avoid wearing long chains, bracelets, or earrings and jewelry that may be caught in each other or on the badminton nets.
2.5 – Wear your Premium Member bracelets at all times during overnight hours and when using the fitness gym and lounge.
2.6 – Possession or use of any weapons, dangerous materials or stolen, illegal or prohibited items is not permitted. The Club reserves the right to search all persons and belongings.
3.0 FOOD, BEVERAGES, AND CONSUMABLES AT THE CLUB
3.1 – Only water is allowed in the court and gym areas. Food and other drinks are only permitted to be consumed in the concession and lounge areas, including drinks purchased from the Club’s amenities.
3.2 – Gum is prohibited. Inappropriate disposal of chewing gum is a violation and will incur a minimum fine of $500.00.
3.3 – Food and drinks from outside sources may be brought to the Club and eaten in the concession and lounge areas only.
3.4 – Premium members may store their food in the Club’s fridges for short periods of time. Unclaimed food and drinks at the end of each day will be disposed. The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen consumables.
3.5 – Protein shakes and other food and beverages that only require minimal preparation are only permitted in the concession or lounge areas.
3.6 – Smoking, vaping, burning of candles, incense, or any other open flame is not permitted. Cooking is not permitted at the Club, including hot pots or barbecues with the use of gas or induction stoves.
3.7 – Possession or consumption of alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, cannabis, or any other illegal substance is strictly prohibited.
4.0 FACILITY ACCESS
4.1 – Access bracelets and memberships are only for the individual it is assigned to and is not permitted to be shared, transferred, sold or gifted. Report lost, stolen, or forgotten access bracelets immediately.
4.2 – Do not allow other individuals including other non-members, Play or Premium members into the courts, fitness gym, or lounge at any time. Close the door behind your own individual access and ensure that they are locked after staffed hours for your own safety.
4.3 – Each member must scan their own bracelet (which provides different tiers of access) upon entering the facility for any purpose other than shopping in the pro shop, regardless of time of day. Failure to scan your own bracelet upon entry for non-shopping reasons is a violation.
5.0 OVERNIGHT USAGE
5.1 – Members may not idle within the facility after 11:30pm unless they are Premium members using the badminton courts for play or the concession area for eating, socializing, and short periods of rest.
5.2 – Unlawful habitation or usage of Club premises as living quarters is not permitted. The Club may remove any individual from its premises at its sole discretion at any time without prior notice.
5.3 – Stay alert and listen to announcements when using the facility overnight. Violations of the Club’s terms, this code of conduct, or house rules during overnight hours will not be tolerated.
5.4 – The Club’s terms, house rules, and this code of conduct must be followed at all times. In particular, for the safety of all within the facility, section 4.0 must be strictly followed during overnight hours.
6.0 LOST & FOUND ITEMS
6.1 – The Club maintains an unsupervised lost and found area. Unclaimed items are considered forfeited and may be processed, disposed of, or donated at the discretion of the Club.
6.2 – In tandem to section 2.6, lost or unclaimed items deemed dangerous or illegal by the Club will be disposed or reported to authorities immediately.
7.0 PARKING
7.1 – Parking is only allowed in designated parking spots. The Club reserves the right to tow a vehicle and/or issue a fine for any improper parking, including but not limited to: blocking other vehicles, an exit, a driving lane, unauthorized use of parking stalls including stalls marked for disability, loading, or non-Club designated zones.
7.2 – Parking vehicles overnight is not permitted.
7.3 – Designated parking spots are for Smash Champs members only.
8.0 COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE
8.1 – Politely remind others of any rules or policies, including safety concerns. Avoid being confrontational with other members and report problematic behaviors to staff.
8.2 – Supervise your children at all times. Unsupervised children should be reported to the front desk.
8.3 – Report maintenance, facility, or safety problems to staff immediately.
8.4 – Report any violations of this code of conduct, house rules, or any other policies to staff. Smash Champs is authorized to eject anyone from the activity or premise for conduct that, in their judgement, is detrimental to the welfare of the Club or is in violation of any rules or policies. Compliance is required when any such decision is made by staff and no refunds will be provided.
9.0 PENALTIES
9.1 – Any violation of the Club’s code of conduct, house rules, terms and conditions, or any other policy may result in any one or multiple of the following penalties at the discretion of the Club:
- Strike on file;
- Fine;
- Repair, replacement cost, or damages owed to the Club;
- Modification or suspension of access, services, rights or privileges; or,
- Suspension or Termination of membership;
- Legal action.
You agree to be held personally liable in the event of any violations and agree to pay any part of these charges. You agree that all charges can be charged to the payment method on file and understand the Club reserved the right to pre-approve these at the time of registration or booking. In addition, no refunds will be provided for any paid portions of services of memberships due to such violations.
The Club reserves the right to add, modify, or remove any part of these Code of Conduct at its sole discretion and without prior notice. Any updates to these terms or other Club policies will be promptly published on the website or on site at the Facility. It is your responsibility to check regularly for changes. Your continued use of or access to the website, facility or any of the Club’s services following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
If you do not agree to this Code of Conduct, you may not use any part of the Club’s website, Facility, or any of its services in any capacity. By accessing or using any part of the Club’s website, Facility, or any of its services in any capacity, you agree to be bound by this Code of Conduct.
